Whether it’s winter or summer, it’s almost impossible not to enjoy some rum in these seasons. Old Monk is not just a drink; it’s actually an emotion and has millions of loyal customers across India. Old Monk has launched more than 10 different variants with different taste profiles during its seven-decade history. Here is a review of certain most common variants of taste.
Old Monk Coffee
Today, I’ll tell you about Old Monk Coffee, the best coffee-flavored rum I’ve ever had. In terms of price, it costs Rs. 1400 in Delhi, although prices vary across different cities. One day, I told my friends about Old Monk Coffee, and they were immediately intrigued. I invited them over for a night of Old Monk coffee tastings. When I poured it into a glass and took a sip, the taste was amazing! Some of my friends even started dancing with their glasses on their heads.
I had never heard of this variant before, as it took a lot of searching to discover its existence. As you know, rum and coke are inseparable, so one day I decided to try Old Monk Coffee with coke. First, I poured some old monk coffee into a glass. When I tasted the combination, it was incredible. There was no hangover, and the drink felt very strong. I had to try all the other rums to rate this one properly.
Old Monk Gold Reserve
Next, I tried Old Monk Gold Reserve. In terms of price, it costs Rs. 500 in Delhi, although prices vary across different cities. When I tasted it, I noticed some sweet notes, and its color was lighter compared to Old Monk Coffee’s dark hue. I would say that if you disrespect rum, it turns into a local orange drink!
Old Monk Supreme
Let me tell you about Old Monk Supreme. The packaging alone was delightful. When I poured it into a glass and tasted it, I felt an amazing sensation. The taste had a hint of vanilla essence, and when I added coke, the vanilla flavor became even more pronounced. I really liked it and would highly recommend it. Even after drinking, the taste lingered. The price in Delhi for this variant is Rs 700.
Old Monk, the Legend
Now, let’s talk about Old Monk, the Legend. The bottle’s packaging was so impressive that I was excited just looking at it. When I poured it into a glass and took a sip, I experienced a smooth flavor that made me forget all the other Old Monk variants. A tip for avoiding hangovers: drink plenty of water throughout the day. The price in Delhi for this variant is Rs 900.
